This is a very nice and charming first floor apartment in the same ancient building as Santa Croce Giardino (v139) and Santa Croce Terrazza (v220), and is only a short walk to the Rialto Bridge. It has a double bedroom (can be twin beds), living/dining room with a comfortable sofa bed, well equipped kitchen, bathroom (shower). It has just been refurbished to a very good standard, maintaining all the original features, with furniture by Venetian artisans. It benefits from a wonderful large walled garden, part of which is for the sole use of this apartment. Santa Croce is the oldest sestiere of Venice where most of the oldest faculties of the University are to be found, as well as the Scuola di San Giovanni Evangelista. Only a few minutes from the beautiful Ca d'Oro and two minutes from the Rio Marin Canal where you can have a drink and pose in one of the nicest bars in Venice - Ai Postali - a canalside cafe or in Campo San Giacomo dell'Orio where you can also feel like a real Venetian drinking a Spritz con cicheti under the ample shade of the plane trees. Babysitting can be arranged on request. Our comment: a popular first floor apartment, perfect for just two renting or for part of a large party renting the whole building. We love the garden and the complete serenity of the area. Very close to Campo San Giacomo dell'Orio for some great restaurants. Facilities: washing machine, central heating, two fans, oven.

The apartment is delightful - huge garden, wonderful 'Venetian' decor, and the neighborhood is perfect - makes you feel a bit more like a 'local' and isn't overrun with other tourists! More...
