This apartment is on the main piano nobile floor of a beautiful 'square' private palazzo just off Campo Santa Maria Formosa in Castello - it has the original large trifora Gothic arched windows in what was originally the library of this once family owned palazzo.

The courtyard has the original well of the house, and its own watergate entrance of course, which was so essential for the private comings and goings of this patrician family. The courtyard is now for communal use and is beautifully cared for by its residents.

The large heavy door on to the street affords to the passer by only a hint of what lies behind - a small but perfectly formed family palazzo of which this comfortable apartment is one of the main features.

The hall opens out into a well furnished open plan living/dining room with large trifora windows, and two sofas. A staircase leads to a high fronted gallery above with small double bed and antique armoire. A second set of stairs leads from the entrance hall to a private double bedroom with small bathroom. The kitchen is well equipped.

An attractive and characterful apartment, furnished with antique furniture, in a quiet and very desirable part of Venice.

Our comment: this is a good apartment for a couple or an extended family group where privacy is not paramount as it is open plan in part. I have been letting it successfully for years - one of my most reliable apartments I would say, and in a lovely location.
