Campo Arsenale, Castello

A lovely 15th century house on the famous Campo Arsenale.

The house fronts the grandiose entrance to the Venice Arsenale which, at the height of Venice's power, was the largest shipbuilders in the known world, making Venice the most important sea power of the time. Visits can be arranged around the original mediaeval shipyards.

Now, however, the Canale del Arsenale is a sleepy backwater (except on Regatta day!), tranquil and relaxing yet only 8/10 minutes along the waterfront to Piazza San Marco, and only two minutes from the waterbus stop at Arsenale. It is also only 10 minutes to the Venice Lido as a relaxing alternative to the cultural scene.

The house is owned by one (non-resident) family and is divided into four apartments of varying sizes, from one bedroom plus gallery bedroom/one bathroom to a spacious two bedroom/two bathroom apartment with large windows and spectacular views. Satellite and CNN are  available.
