Venetian Apartments Newsletter, July/August 2008With reports that we are to prepare ourselves for an Indian summer here in England, I cannot think of anywhere better than Venice for a well-earned break. Very few other cities in the world can offer the fabulous mix of culture and beach that keeps the whole family happy. In the meantime some generous owners have been in touch to let us know that their apartments are free for the month of August and have kindly allowed us to tempt you with a weekly Ferroagosto proposal. Find out more... We have just taken on a fantastic new apartment with enticing garden views that sleeps six in Dorsoduro called v249 Rezzonico Mezzanine. I am sure that this will be an extremely popular choice as larger apartments in this sought-after sestiere are a rarity. The added attraction is that the apartment is in the same Palazzo on the Grand Canal as v248 Canal Grande Terrazza and v262 Grand Canal Piano Nobile. Perfect for larger parties and extended family groups. In fact it still looks free for the coveted October half term... On the subject of the Dorsoduro I hear that from today until the 21st September every Sunday morning a renowned Venetian barman, Piero Ballarin, will be offering the celebrated spritz to those who wish to mingle amongst the creations by Chagall and Pollock at the Peggy Guggenheim Museum. It simply could not be more than a few footsteps from our apartments v131 Grand Canal Palazzo Accademia Apartment II or v153 San Vio, stopping off first for Mass at St George's in Campo San Vio of course! The great news hot off the press is that British Airways are starting a new service from Heathrow Terminal 5 from the 26th October. We would advise this route for all who only wish to stay for a long weekend and carry hand luggage for now!
