The private water taxi service we booked in advance was extremely efficient and well organised from being met at the airport to delivery at the Zattere water bus stop. Having the telephone number of our local contact was very helpful in co-ordinating pick-up on the day of our return.

...The transportation to and from the airport ran so smoothely. Everyone was punctual and waiting for us. Our flight was 3 hours delayed, but upon arrival we were met by the driver who took us to the quayside for the boat. Massimo was waiting for us...

...When we walked out of the arrivals hall there was someone with our name on a board. He then drove us the 150 yds to another man who had the taxi. When we arrived at Campo Santa Formosa there was the owner of the apartment and a few steps and we were at the front door of the apartment. What could have been easier?

I read your newsletter this morning, and I am very pleased and thankful for the new arrangement concerning the water taxi. Being met in the airport really makes it so much easier. Last year we were so lost, so we went outside and got a land taxi to take us to the water taxi. Thank you for this effort - my husband and I will use this new method, as will my son and his family.

...It was one of our best holidays ever. Staying in the apartment, the private water taxi, and of course Venice itself, was magical. At the age of 45 it takes a lot to get us going, but this holiday certainly did the trick. We will remember it for a very long time.

...I must tell you that Massimo, the water taxi driver, saved the day on Saturday when we were leaving. He had picked us up at the apartment very early in the morning and we were disembarking at the airport when I realised that I had forgotten my purse in the apartment entry hall. He went into action as Superman and obtained a key, got me back to the unit by water taxi and then personally drove me to the airport where my sisters were waiting. I walked onto the plane and they closed the door behind me. I still can't believe I made it. I am so appreciative of the extra effort he made and wanted to let you know that he is definitely a keeper!!! I of course paid him for the additional round trip to the airport as well as a very generous tip.

All three taxies we booked were there spot on time, Massimo helped us out when we arrived as we hadn't been able to contact Alvise from the airport, so he did it for us, and he also found out what was happening when the rest of our party was delayed. ...We were very glad that we'd booked a water taxi for our arrival. Our flight was delayed by an hour and a half, and it was a great relief to find Massimo waiting patiently for us, and transporting us quickly across the lagoon. On Friday, on our return trip to the airport, we took the cheaper option of waterbus and bus No.5. This was certainly an interesting experience - on very crowded transport - but everyone was very friendly, and it was useful to see how it worked, for future reference. But water taxi is definitely the stylish, stress-free way to arrive! ...
