Chiesa (v115)

We have just returned from Venice, Chiesa and on behalf of all of us I would like to ask if you could forward our thanks to your charming representative who let us the apartment. We had a brilliant time and she was absolutely great, so welcoming and coming to see us off as well.

What a wonderful apartment - it was exactly as you said - not luxe but oh so comfy and welcoming. A great size too - we had four adults in it and there was room for more. I wish I were rich enough to buy the apartment! It is in a great position - outside of the main tourist mellee but close enough for access and all the really important things are in the square or street - wine shop, great restaurant, excellent bar/coffee shop, butchers and in an easy walk of the Rialto Markets. I felt I at least got to taste life as a local. Lovely views out of the lounge windows of Venetian rooftops and views of the campo (and the domes of St Marks) from the sunroom. GREAT. I recommend this apartment if you are after comfort, space and great position. Thanks.

A note of thanks to everyone at Venetian Apartments, the owner of Chiesa, and your representative for a wonderful two-week stay in Venice. Me and my three companions and enjoyed gorgeous weather and many Venetian adventures. Chiesa was a wonderful home base and your representative made us feel welcome immediately. We loved making daily trips to our local wine merchant and salumeria. Highlights of our stay included a day trip to Padova and the Cappella Scrovegni with its beautiful Giotto frescoes, the Carpaccio cycle of paintings at the Scuola Grande di San Giorgio degli Schiavoni, view of Venice from the campanile of San Giorgio Maggiore, a day trip to Panchia (a tiny town in the Dolomites, birthplace of my maternal grandfather), and sipping wine or espresso while sketching in some of our favorite campi. Through all of our adventures, we loved "coming home" to Chiesa each evening, where we relaxed over a glass of wine while discussing plans for the next day. We look forward to returning to Venice soon, and will certainly avail ourselves of your services again. Many, many thanks!

We had a wonderful time at Christmas in the Chiesa apartment. Perfect... Cosy and warm, great kitchen, ideal location and brilliant sunshine everyday. The only downer was our cancelled flight home... but thats another story.

Our family of six (mum, dad, brother + partner, myself and partner) had a week in Venice during Carnival in February 2006. This apartment was perfect.

Fabulous location, size, layout and decor. The six of us were worried we woud get on top of each other during the week - we needn't have worried, it was huge! With lounge, living and dining areas and spacious bedrooms, there was more than enough space. It's so big the girls played hide and seek in the first 24 hours!! Location wise it is ideal, only 10 minutes gentle stroll to Piazza San Marco with a chocolate and cake shop to die for on route! With quirky decor, ideally suited to such a large apartment it lost none of its charm throughout the week. With its 64 steps up from the courtyard it certainly keeps you fit so keep suitcases light and after getting lost on the back streets and walking six miles around Venice those last 30 steps were just too many on the first day!!

A truly superb apartment that really made our week so special - which for her 60th birthday was just what my mum wanted, thanks for the memories Chiesa it was a perfect compliment to our week.

Just a quick line to say we had another great time in Venice. All your arrangements made on our behalf, i.e. water taxis, all went to plan (but don't they always).

The apartment was comfortable, well equipped and in a truly superb location. The weather was really sunny and got warmer as the week went on. We are all super fit now as a result of those 65 steps to the flat. The views over Campo S.Maria Formosa at the front and the rooftops from the dining room were great. Lots of laughter, good food and conversation around that large table.

We had such a happy week in your apartment Chiesa. It is perfect for a family and you had thought of absolutely everything, including ample drying space! We did appreciate all the supplies of linen etc. and I was delighted to find an apron! Your representatives and the cleaner were so nice and a great help with advice.

We enjoyed the Rialto markets and the traghetti - the "real" gondolas were far too expensive - and the water taxi made a wonderful approach to the city. The children loved it and it was an unforgettable week for us all. You were all so helpful over details which cropped up before we went and I was most impressed by how well Joanna and Esther knew the apartment and the area. Thank you all so much, and if we have other friends wanting to do this I shall certainly put them in touch with you.

We were very pleased with the apartment and it certainly changed our opinion as to that area of Venice. It was much more conveniently located for three different vaporetto stops, serving different locations, than we had expected. Although we missed the "fun" of the water traffic at La Fenice there were other compensations. It is likely that next time we will consider the San Lio area again ...

I was staying in Chiesa with six other painter friends in two apartments nearby. The three of us in Chiesa undoubtedly had the best apartment; I shall always want to stay in it when I go to Venice. It was gorgeous - and certainly had the best equipped kitchen I had ever been in (and I have been in a few in my travels!). Because it was so hot, I was getting up about 5 a.m. and going out to paint then. One of the joys of the day was to come back at 7.30 - 8.00 for breakfast, and some of my friend's coffee, and sit in the basket chair at the end of the table, eating cherries and looking out of the window to San Zanipolo...
